Transforming text into an image file easily

Posted by d_tremblay 214 days ago Mac Tips
Sometimes, you may need text to be converted to an image files. There are many reasons why you might need this. I use it all the time to post my e-mail address on my website but I don't want to it to be text because it gets recognized by spam bot and I start to receive spam. Yes you can go in a graphic application, create a text box and then save it as a .gif, .jpeg or .png. Mac OS X has an even faster way to do that. Just type your text in any text editor, word processor or anywhere else when you can enter text and copy it (using the Edit menu and then copy or just Command-C). Then open the "Preview" app, paste your text and save the file. Here you have it, you text now as an image file.

There is actually a quicker way. Just type your text anywhere that allows typing then use Cmd-Ctrl-Shift-4 and highlight the text. It will then be in the clipboard as an image. Or you can use CMd-Shift-4 if you want it as a file rather than being in the clipboard.
